A spatial analysis of variance applied to soil-water infiltration

چکیده
A spatial analysis of variance uses the spatial dependence among the observations to modify the usual interference procedures associated with a statistical linear model. When spatial correlation is present, the usual tests for presence of treatment effects may no longer be valid, and erroneous conclusions may result from assuming that the usual F ratios are F distributed. This is demonstrated using a spatial analysis of soilwater infiltration data. Emphasis is placed on modeling the spatial dependence structure with geostatistical techniques, and this spatial dependence structure is then used to test hypotheses about fixed effects using a nested linear model. -Authors

Catchment-scale spatial variability analysis of soil hydro-physical properties in a semi-arid region of Iran
Soil hydrau-physical data are important for many hydrological modelings. They are the main variables controllingthe key processes such as water and chemicals movement and transport in the soil profiles. This study was conductedin order to analyze the spatial distribution of selected soil hydrau-physcial characteristics including infiltration rate(IR), saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks), bulk...
متن کاملA robust-resistant spatial analysis of soil water infiltration
Concentrates on estimating the spatial correlations between soil water infiltration observations, with special emphasis on resistant methods to remove nonstationarity. After this removal, robust semivariogram estimators are used to examine the spatial dependencies for various tillage treatments. There is some indication that infiltration characteristics inherit different types of spatial depend...
متن کاملCalibration and evaluation of water infiltration models in different soil textures
Accurate estimation of water infiltration into the soil is important for the design of irrigation systems. Therefore, calibration of different models is necessary to estimate the permeability in different regions. The aim of the present study was to calibrate and evaluate the models of Kastiakov, Kastiakov modified, Philip, SCS, Novell, and Horton in different soil textures. To evaluate the acc...
متن کاملIdentification of the Best Infiltration Model in Order to Investigation of Spatial Variability of Infiltration Parameters (Case Study: Darabkola River Basin)
Infiltration is the process of water penetration from the ground surface into the soil and is an important process in the hydrological cycle by which surface runoff and groundwater recharge can be linked. Over the years, the importance of the infiltration process resulted in the development of several simplified analytical models for predicting infiltration. These infiltration models range from...

Quantitative description of the spatial variability of soil hydraulic characteristics is crucial for planning, management and the optimum application. Field measurement of infiltration is very expensive, time-consuming and laborious. Soil structure also important effects on water infiltration in the soil. The objectives of this study were to determine the spatial variability of water infiltrati...
